About the project
Plasmata: Bodies, Dreams and Data turned a public Athens park into an exhibition floor. The commission here was the augmented reality layer: an application visitors ran on their own phones as they moved through the park.
Working with the Onassis Foundation and ESTO Association, the app placed digital work into the physical site, so the exhibition existed in the park rather than on a screen somewhere else.
Public AR has no tolerance for friction. It had to work outdoors, in daylight, on whatever handset a visitor arrived with, without an install queue or a briefing.
