About the project

A galaxy is an expensive thing to render and a cheap thing to fake badly. This study builds a dynamic, fully movable 360-degree galaxy material that holds up under a camera that can go anywhere, while staying inside a real-time budget.

The work sits in the trade-off itself: how much of the effect can live in the material rather than in geometry or particles, and where the eye stops noticing the difference.

It is the kind of study that decides whether a look is shippable. The output is not only the material but the knowledge of what it costs per frame.
