About the project
The Circle is a series of episodes captured underwater, built around anxiety: how time stops when thoughts of failure or fear arrive in the middle of an effort that matters.
This first episode is about repetition. It takes the image of a dog chasing its tail and holds it, so the loop itself becomes the subject rather than a thing that happens on the way somewhere.
Shooting underwater is the point rather than the style. The medium slows the body down and removes the easy gesture, which is exactly what the film is about.
