About the project
Broken works through the definition itself: violently separated into parts, damaged by breaking, not working properly, land that is irregular and full of obstacles, a promise not kept, sleep that is interrupted.
Laid end to end, the meanings stop agreeing with each other. A broken leg, a broken camera, a broken promise and a broken night have almost nothing in common except the word.
The piece sits in that gap, where one small word is made to stand for every kind of damage at once.
